Privacy Policy

The Short Version

SoundsBetter.ai is designed with privacy in mind. We don't store your text, we don't track you, and we don't sell your data. Your text is processed in real-time and immediately discarded.

What We Collect

  • Your text: Sent to OpenAI's API for processing, then immediately deleted. We don't store it.
  • Your IP address: Used only for rate limiting (to prevent abuse). Not logged or stored permanently.
  • Analytics data (optional): We use Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4 to understand how people use the site (e.g., page views, button clicks, general usage patterns). This does not include the text you submit. You can decline tracking via our cookie banner.
  • Technical data: Basic server logs for security and performance (e.g., timestamps, request counts).

What We Don't Collect

  • No account data (there are no accounts)
  • No stored history of your text
  • No email addresses or personal information
  • We never send your text content to Google Analytics

How We Use Your Data

When you click "Improve," your text is sent to OpenAI's API for processing. OpenAI's data usage policies apply during this process. According to OpenAI's policies, API data is not used to train their models.

Once the improved text is returned to you, we don't retain any copy of your original or improved text.

Rate Limiting

To prevent abuse, we temporarily store your IP address in memory for rate limiting. This data is automatically cleared after a few minutes and is never written to permanent storage.

Third-Party Services

Your Rights

Since we don't store your data, there's nothing to delete, export, or request. You're in full control of what you paste and share.

You can control cookies and tracking through our cookie banner, which appears on your first visit. You can also manage your preferences at any time on our Cookie Policy page.

Changes to This Policy

If we update this policy, we'll post the changes on this page. Continued use of the service means you accept any updates.
